If you are trying to get on with your work life and be a mom at the same time, these tips can help you. It is entirely possible to be a working mother!
Working mother: A combination that works

Today, it is not uncommon to meet women who are mothers and work at the same time. How can you handle so much responsibility, all at the same time?

In today’s society, women have taken on roles that were completely unthinkable many years ago. After much effort, women have entered the workplace.

The injustice of men having to work and women staying at home to take care of the family is changing. Although there are still women who choose to become housewives , it is now for another reason: they have the right to choose for themselves.

But there is still inequality. On the one hand, we still have a long way to go when it comes to rights in the workplace. On the other hand , society still believes that mothers have the greatest responsibility for raising their children. All of this often leads to mothers feeling overwhelmed.

Advice for working women

If you want to succeed in your work without having to ignore your children, there are some things you need to keep in mind.

You have to remember that if you do not take care of yourself, you can harm your health by being too busy.

Delegate tasks

This applies both at home and in the office, it is impossible for you to do everything yourself. Even if you usually say “if you want something done, it is best to do it yourself”, you do not always have to follow this.

The same goes for your partner,  you should both share the responsibility equally. If you are a working mother, it would also be good if you learn to use calendars and schedules to organize everything.

2. Learn to prioritize

According to the experiences of many working mothers , you may sometimes need to focus entirely on the job. And sometimes you need to focus on your family or your partner. In these cases , you can postpone unnecessary tasks and focus only on the musts.

Over time, you can begin to rebalance your responsibilities and devote time to what you previously neglected. Although it may seem like a small thing, it is actually very useful.

3. Good planning

Instead of letting yourself be swept away by everything that needs to be done every day,  stop for a minute during the weekend to create a weekly schedule.

Then you know in advance when you need to buy school supplies, if you have a meeting or if it is a special holiday such as a birthday, Easter or Christmas.

This also applies to your working life. If “a careful man is worth twice as much”, “a careful mother is worth ten times as much.”

Hire babysitting or housekeeping services

Sometimes it can be an advantage to save money to hire a babysitter or a cleaning company. In this way, parents can avoid commitments that disrupt their routines and steal a lot of time.

For example, you can  hire someone to clean your house once a week. This means that you have more time for your children on Saturdays and Sundays. A babysitter can also take the children to school or other activities such as sports training.

5. Have patience and a positive outlook on life

Everyone can have a bad day, both at home and at work. But no matter how difficult it may seem, you must try to make sure that it does not affect all parts of your life.

If you are upset about something at work, do not show it to your children. They may feel guilty about what is happening. Maybe they interpret it as “disrupting” your own plans.

A working mother must make sure that it does not happen the other way either. That is, your performance at work should not suffer from quarreling with your partner or your child. Of course, it’s much easier said than done!

In conclusion, the right to be a working mother is an opportunity that many women have fought for. Therefore, you should also exercise this right.

Do not give up because problems arise. See every day as a challenge, and a chance to be happy and achieve your dreams.

Sometimes, of course, you have to press the pause button to be able to engage in things that make you happy; hobbies, vacations, your children and your partner. There is time for everything, so be sure to make the most of it!
